We are seeking a Communications Advisor to develop & deliver the Press & external communications activity for this high profile, small but perfectly formed Department in the Public Sector.

Client Details

Our client are a critical UK Executive Agency that operate as an arm's length body to a key Government Department.

Description

Be the 1st point of contact for all media and press enquiries

  • Develop and implement communication plans that will include:
    • Working with the CEO and Policy Lead to seek out appropriate press opportunities
    • Building strong multi-channel media relationships
    • Prepare all briefing documents, press releases and mandated communications
    • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of communication strategies
  • Liaise with stakeholders both internally and externally to keep relevant groups well informed regarding communications activity.

Profile

The successful Communications Advisor will be able to demonstrate a strong track record across the following:

  • A proven track record managing time-critical and sensitive external communications particularly with UK press and media contacts ideally in the financial space.
  • Working knowledge of UK government departmental press office or equivalent
  • Demonstrable work across both the planning and delivery of external communications in all it's forms.
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders, taking a view to building long term relationships and credibly representing the organisation.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a highly structured, organised, and meticulous approach to preparation of all communications
  • Strong inter-personal skills with ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with colleagues at all levels

Job Offer

  • Competitive Daily rate circa £220/day depending on suitability for the role
  • Initial 6 month contract - with possibility to extend
