Job Title: AVP Capital ManagementJob Type: PermanentLocation: LondonSalary: £95,000 - £110,000Opportunity Overview: A fantastic opportunity has become available to join a leading specialty insurance and reinsurance company, as an AVP Capital Management.Role Objective: As a key member of the Capital Management team (with an emphasis on data manipulation, collation, and analysis), this role will contribute to the delivery of the function's key objectives: * The development of tools and the performance of quantitative analysis - to aid strategic decision-making by the business, and* The provision of consultancy support - to determine the capital implications of new initiatives and establish proposals to maximise capital efficiency.Key Responsibilities:* Provide informative MI and supporting analysis in respect of Available and required Capital - as required for management, regulators, rating agencies and other stakeholders.* Be responsible for the quarterly runs and analysis of relevant Rating Agency models (i.e. "S&P" and "AMBest") - sourcing inputs, owning calculation processes, and presenting outputs. * Assist in the delivery of relevant aspects of the Bermuda Monetary Authority ("BMA") Model requirements.* Develop and enhance tools - using Excel modelling outputs and/or other relevant tools - to facilitate the production and utilisation of the MI and modelling outputs noted above.* Assist on ad-hoc capital projects to support our strategic objectives - e.g. identify capital efficiencies, propose treatment for non-standard items, & respond to key stakeholder requests.Strategy and Planning* Contributes to functional strategy development and prioritises operational deliverables and activities of team to support delivery of overall business targets* Manages tactical plan and provides support to others to achieve positive results for the business in line with strategy.Policy, Process and Procedures * Adhere to modelling and reporting rules and standards as established by the relevant Regulatory bodies and equivalent internal/external stakeholders. Environmental Awareness/Customer Focus * Liaise with stakeholders from relevant teams across company (including Capital Modelling, Reserving, Investments, Finance and Planning) to collate and reconcile the required data.Technical Performance * Develop subject matter expertise in respect of how key factors (e.g. premiums, reserves and investments) influence the available and required capital of the Rating Agency models.Requirements:Knowledge* Strong technical, quantitative analysis and problem-solving skills coupled with an enthusiasm for accuracy and attention to detail.* Technical proficiency with Microsoft Excel (Advanced Level) - including proven ability to handle complex data and prepare professional presentations.Skills* Good GCSE and A/AS Level grades, ideally having studied a numerical subject to A Level.* Bachelor's Degree level qualification (or equivalent) in a numeric discipline (e.g. Math, Finance, Science, Technology, or Engineering).* Internationally recognized accounting (or equivalent) professional designation.Experience* 5+ years post-qualified experience within the (re)insurance industry.* Experience with capital models is beneficial (e.g. working knowledge of rating-agency/regulatory models or similar internal/factor-based platforms).* Experience of BMA's BSCR capital regime would also be of value.Don't hesitate and miss out on this opportunity!
