Investment Manager

£80K - £90K (dependent upon experience), 20% bonus, hybrid working, 28 days annual leave

We are recruiting for a talented and ambitious person to join a leading Infrastructure Investor as an Investment Manager. This role combines your commercial knowledge with financial acumen in developing high profile infrastructure projects. You will have min circa 3-5 years’ experience in developing financial and commercial solutions for major infrastructure projects and have a strong project finance modelling experience gained in an advisory or in a large corporate.

About the role:

  • Financial modelling of major investment projects; bid pricing, investment appraisal.
  • Operational modelling of the SPV investments; updating actuals and forecasts, monitoring of investment performance, reporting to the banks and shareholders.
  • Liaise with the technical teams about the costs and KPIs; develop models consistent with the contracting structure, assess risks and sensitivities.
  • Participate in contract negotiations. Provide financial support to the bid teams.
  • Review and audit of financial models / operational models.
  • Negotiation and drafting of contract documentation and payment mechanism.
  • Participate in contract and/or refinancing variations; updating contract documents and financial models.
  • Participate in the due diligence of major investments, M&A and disposals.
  • Production of financial bid proposals.
  • Communication with senior management, board approvals, presentations.
  • Review and update of medium-term business plans, forecasts, liaison with finance teams.
  • Make recommendations about funding arrangements.
  • Liaison with the internal teams, auditors, external advisors, banks, lawyers
  • Provide training and staff supervision.

What are the requirements?

  • Ideally a degree in business, accounting, economics, engineering, or in a similar subject and or professional qualification such as CFA, CIMA, ACA etc. (full or part qualified - professional development will be supported).
  • Must possess commercial acumen; understanding of business drivers, contracting structures, risks, contract pricing.
  • Excellent ability to communicate complex issues to a wide range stakeholders.
  • Good time management, deliver within tight deadlines.
  • Be proactive and enthusiastic, eager to learn and improve.
  • Ability to manage, supervise junior members of the team.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in financial modelling or operational modelling.
  • Advanced Excel knowledge. Completion of an advanced financial modelling course is preferred.
  • A general knowledge of IFRS / GAAP.
  • A general understanding of UK corporate taxation.
  • Knowledge of tender process and bid preparation is preferred.
