A national newspaper is looking for a journalist with a passion for data, SEO and analysing why some stories do well and some don’t, and when, etc., plus the ability to communicate this information to senior managers and journalists on the team in a way that will influence change. This is a high profile role with the opportunity to make a lot of impact. A daily newspaper, news room background is essential.

You’ll be responsible for providing the journalists and editors with data-driven insights and recommendations (across SEO, social and third party aggregators) to grow the audience. To do this you will need experience of web analytics (Google Analytics, Google Search Console and Crowd Tangel), data visualisation (Power BI and Looker Studio) and the media industry.

Strong communication and presentations skills are essential, as is the ability to translate data effectively for those who aren’t familiar with it and a proven track record in a fast paced newsroom.
