The principal duties of the position are to provide a professional and efficient catering service to an office staff of approximately 500. This a physically demanding role and will also involve cleaning duties.

The Corporate Catering Assistant works under the supervision of the Front of House Team Leader and as part of the Front of House and wider Administration team which provides wide-ranging support services.

Working full time: 07:30am - 3:30pm (Monday - Friday) in the office.

The successful candidate will ideally have office or corporate catering experience.

Catering

  • Ordering / stock control and rotation of catering and domestic supplies for staff requirements and for the client meeting room suite.
  • Accepting, checking, and unpacking incoming deliveries.
  • Ordering and daily distribution of milk supplies to 6 refreshment areas and the client catering kitchen
  • Stocking the refreshments areas with consumables and catering equipment including managing the operation of the bean to cup coffee machines
  • Responsible for the physical appearance of all refreshment areas, including cleaning throughout the day of kitchen worktops, coffee machines, microwaves, cleaning the café tables and chairs.
  • Stacking and emptying dishwashers, clearing general waste and recycling bins.
  • Responsible for defrosting and cleaning of fridges and cleaning cupboard interiors
  • Delivery and clearance of refreshments and hot/cold lunches to internal meeting rooms
  • Assist with booking outside caterers for formal lunches, buffets, evening events etc.

Other duties

  • Assist with stock control and purchase wines and beers including, selection, ordering and storage
  • Stock internal meeting rooms with stationery
  • Some re-siting of meeting room furniture may be required (manual handling training provided).
  • Attending local stores / shops etc. to make purchases of catering consumables and equipment.
  • During busy periods the Catering Assistant may be required to meet and greet clients

Requirements

  • Ideally suited to person with previous office catering experience.
  • The role is very physical and involves cleaning duties.
  • Ability to work on own initiative, working either alone and/or as part of a team with fluctuating workload.
  • Friendly / sociable personality. Good communication skills. Able to maintain high standard of professionalism at all times.
  • Basic IT skills
