We're looking for a Head Kitchen Porter to join the team at No. Fifty Cheyne.

  • Compensation: up to £14.00 p/h

Head Kitchen Porter Job Summary:

The Head Kitchen Porter is responsible for managing the kitchen porter team and ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and back-of-house areas. This role plays a vital part in maintaining hygiene standards, ensuring that equipment and facilities are operational, and supporting the smooth functioning of the kitchen. The Head Kitchen Porter will also manage inventory of cleaning supplies and train new porters to adhere to best practices.

Head Kitchen Porter Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Management:

  • Lead, supervise, and motivate the team of kitchen porters, ensuring they perform their duties efficiently.
  • Allocate daily tasks to the porter team and oversee their completion
  • Act as the main point of contact between the porter team and the Head Chef/Kitchen Manager.
  • Train new kitchen porters on cleaning protocols, safety standards, and kitchen operations.

Cleaning and Hygiene:

  • Ensure the kitchen and food preparation areas meet all health and safety regulations.
  • Oversee the cleaning of kitchen equipment, floors, and surfaces according to established standards.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with sanitation and hygiene protocols.

Support to Kitchen Operations:

  • Ensure all pots, pans, utensils, and dishes are cleaned and returned to the kitchen promptly.
  • Assist chefs and kitchen staff during busy periods as required.
  • Coordinate waste disposal and recycling efforts in the kitchen area.

Head Kitchen Porter Key Skills and Competencies:
