Our client, a Magic Circle law firm, are actively seeking a Banking and Finance Support Lawyer to join them on a contract for an initial 6 month period but could extend for up to 18 months. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop as a junior legal professional within a well-regarded law firm. Depending on experience, and the firm offer great benefits including hybrid working.

Job Description:

  • Support Lawyer preferably from a Commonwealth jurisdiction or Paralegal with at least 2+ years’ experience
  • Prior Banking/Finance experience is necessary, experience with aviation finance deals is desirable
  • Must present very well and be able to deal with very senior stakeholders, show resilience and be aware that long hours may be needed from time to time
  • The ideal candidate must perform well on attention to detail, work ethic and technical abilities
  • Initially a 6 month contract with the view to extension. We are ideally looking for at least a 12-18 month commitment due to level of training and investment that will be put into successful candidates

Qualifications/Experience:

  • LPC or BPC / SQE 1 & 2 / Foreign qualified (LLB + LLM)
  • 2:1 and above degree
  • Reviewing, drafting and negotiating pre-engagement legal documents such as NDAs, B2B NDAs, reliance/release letters, engagement letters
  • Assisting IBD Legal on ad-hoc transactional work, including reviewing DD reports and legal opinions
  • Revising and updating internal guidelines
  • Participating in charity initiatives

  • Ability to work within a pressurised environment
  • Extremely organised - able to prioritise and manage workload
  • Appreciation of the culturally diverse environment in which the firm operates
  • Excellent eye for detail and presentation
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (sufficient gravitas and experience to work effectively with more senior colleagues including Partners, Managing Associates and Clients)
