This leading legal firm is looking for a Business Development Project Manager to join their Innovation Practice.

The Department

The Innovation Department brings together expertise from across the Firm, allowing a new level of collaboration and a focus on meeting the needs of clients in diverse and dynamic sectors.

The Role

As a Business Development (BD) Project Manager, you will be critical in managing and driving forward a wide range of projects across the Innovation Department. This firm is looking for two BD Project Managers, one to support the IP and Competition practices and another to work across the Betting and Gaming, Tech, Life Sciences, Commercial, Sport and Data practices.

You will play a critical role in the successful delivery of projects, working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders, including Partners and Lawyers, as well as colleagues across the wider Business Development function.

While it is naturally expected that there is a high standard of planning as well as budget management, you must also be agile in approach, quick to learn and able to work through challenging problems. Written and verbal communication must be strong, allowing for effective communication with highly intelligent and demanding stakeholders of all levels. You will need to be able to navigate a complex environment - bringing clarity and structure to each of your projects.You will therefore be required to be resilient, confident, and comfortable in your dealings with senior people, with a focus on building successful and productive working relationships, flexing your style as required. Resilience, energy, with great visibility and a can-do attitude will be the key to success in this role.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plan, execute, and finalise projects through to their successful delivery, in line with the agreed schedule, quality and budget.
  • Define project objectives, oversee risk and quality control throughout its life cycle.
  • Build strong cross-functional teams who work efficiently together to deliver value to the firm

Skills/Experience

  • Experience of managing a variety of projects of varying size, negotiating timescales and resources with internal and external delivery teams.
  • Experience of working with senior stakeholders to understand objectives and needs and to negotiate consensus.
  • Experience of promoting the benefits of project management principles to senior stakeholders and competency in project management tools (e.g. MS Project).

  • Strong presenter who is methodical and analytical in approach, able to demonstrate a creative approach to problem solving, who has excellent attention to detail and organisational skills, excellent influencing and negotiation skills and is able to work independently and as part of a team.
