Corporate Commercial Solicitor - Partner LevelLocation: London & RemoteStart Date: ImmediateExperience: Minimum 10 years PQEThe OpportunityA well-established law firm seeks an experienced Corporate/Commercial Solicitor to lead and develop a new Corporate/Commercial Department. This is an opportunity to build a department from the ground up, leveraging existing referral work and generating new business. The role offers Partner-level responsibility with a focus on strategic growth, business development, and client management.Key ResponsibilitiesDepartment Setup & Development:

  • Develop and implement a strategic plan for the new department.
  • Establish operational procedures and best practices.
  • Build and lead a team of solicitors and support staff.

Legal Expertise:

  • Advise on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate finance, and commercial contracts.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate complex legal documents.
  • Ensure compliance with evolving laws and regulations.

Financial & Business Development:

  • Set and achieve financial targets, oversee budgeting, billing, and collections.
  • Develop marketing strategies to attract new clients and grow the firm's corporate commercial presence.
  • Represent the firm at industry events and networking functions.

Client & Referral Management:

  • Handle referral work from other departments, ensuring seamless service integration.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships.

RequirementsQualifications & Experience:

  • Qualified Solicitor in England and Wales.
  • Minimum 10 years PQE in corporate and commercial law.
  • Proven track record in high-value transactions and business development.
  • Leadership or partnership experience, ideally with department setup or growth.
