A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Equity Partner for a highly reputable Legal 500 firm in the City. Salaried Partner would also be considered but with the view to the person becoming Equity Partner within an agreed period of time.

Employment is one of the Firms core departments and a key practice area, currently comprising of 2 solicitors and a small team of paralegal/admin support. Covering a mix of claimant and respondent matters, across SME, larger corporates and individuals including executive (both contentious & non-contentious). The team work with businesses across various industry sectors helping employers develop the right strategy to ensure legal compliance and proactively resolving problems before they grow (health checks, advice on equality & diversity, company restructuring, management of employment tribunals). The team often advise on high profile discrimination and whistle blowing cases/issues of public importance.

The successful candidate will have a strong reputation and experience to help lead the Department in the next stage of its growth journey.

This is a key appointment for the firm and the ideal candidate will likely demonstrate the following:-

Employment lawyer with a minimum of 10 years post qualification experience

Extensive experience of advising and representing a range of clients & individuals in a variety of employment situations

Good track record of developing a practice and looking to lead a function, with the ability to conceive, develop and deliver on a plan for maintaining and developing it.

Strong technical ability and commercial mindset

Previous experience of leading a high performing team

Track record of effective billing & collection procedures.
