Job Responsibilities

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for building and leading a new team, setting an example through their expertise and dedication.
  • You will be responsible for; Strategic Planning, Innovation Leadership, Business Engagement, Budget Oversight, Team Leadership & Vendor Management amongst other things.
  • Overseeing the management and lifecycle of legal specific technology, working closely with the wider IT team to ensure the delivery of seamless IT operations.
  • Actively engage with business stakeholders to understand their needs and challenges, ensuring that technology solutions align with business objectives. Fostering strong relationships with legal practice groups to facilitate collaboration and drive the adoption of technologies that enhance legal processes.
  • Mapping and documenting as-is and to-be processes with the ability to communicate these across different stakeholder groups.
  • Bridging the gap between fee earners understanding and what is possible with current technology, shaping the vision though effective narrative and demonstrations.
  • Implementing legal focused technology solutions, from identifying opportunities and develop persuasive business cases through to training and driving adoption.
  • Lead IT projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Helping the firm maximise its existing technology investments though training with a focus on process and benefits, which will help to drive adoption and deliver the return of investment.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in legal technology, leveraging new developments to maintain a competitive edge and drive innovation.
  • Maintain and improve the security of technology systems in line with the firm's policies.

Skills Required

  • Deep understanding of legal processes and extensive experience in engaging effectively with legal professionals and understand their language.
  • Experience in identifying opportunities and developing persuasive business cases for technology investments.
  • Experience in project management and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with budget management and strategic planning.
  • Experience in supplier and contract management.
  • Experience with the implementation and management of legal technology solutions in most of the following areas:

Case management, Generative AI, Document drafting and automation, Legal process automation, Client collaboration and data portals, Contract management, E-signatures and legal forms & E-discovery tools
