Our client is seeking a Commercial Contracts and Procurement Solicitor/Lawyer to assist the Chief Contracts Lawyer in providing comprehensive legal support for the Council’s functions related to contracts, procurement, economic regeneration, and other assigned responsibilities. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified legal professional looking to make a significant impact in a council environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Chief Contracts Lawyer in planning, coordinating, and undertaking legal work supporting the Council’s functions related to contracts and procurement.
  • Manage and ensure the development of a Contracts Lawyer, allocating work as appropriate.
  • Maintain a substantial personal caseload of complex contract work, providing legal advice, drafting, negotiating, and agreeing on complex documentation for various types of contracts and commercial transactions.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Qualified to practice as a solicitor or barrister in England (or comparable jurisdiction) or hold a FILEX qualification.
  • Substantial post-qualification experience in the legal profession, with proven experience in the contract area or exceptional experience over a shorter period.
