You will be responsible for providing advice on insolvency and restructuring matters within the firm, providing legal expertise and guidance to clients on all aspects of insolvency law and contributing to the growth in the department’s profitability.

Job specification:
- Lead and develop a team of insolvency and restructuring professionals, fostering collaboration and innovation.
- Manage complex insolvency cases, providing legal expertise and strategic advice to clients.
- Negotiate and draft agreements for insolvency matters, including CVAs, administration, and receivership.
- Support the department’s fee-earning targets by assisting clients within and outside the department.
- Build strong relationships with insolvency Practitioners, businesses, and Directors to deliver tailored solutions.
- Stay updated on insolvency laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Ensure compliance with AML and KYC regulations.
- Supervise team members and support client retention and business development.
- Advise clients on risk management and mitigation in insolvency matters.
- Contribute to firm initiatives like marketing and networking outside working hours.
- Maintain effective file management and financial controls, including time recording and billing.
- Work independently and take on additional duties as needed.
- Provide strategic input for the growth of the insolvency and restructuring practice.
Person specification:
- Qualified Solicitor in England with valid Practising Certificate.
- At least 10 years of post-qualification experience in handling insolvency related legal matters.
- Strong academic background with a good honours degree, LPC, training contract, and PSC, or equivalent qualifications, and admitted by the SRA as a solicitor.
- Familiarity with Practice Evolve or other practice management systems is desirable.
- Knowledge of Practical Law and LexisNexis would be beneficial.
- Professional and courteous communication with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.
- Positive attitude and proven leadership experience.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Clear and effective communication, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Strong attention to detail and adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Business development acumen to support the firm’s growth.
- Alignment with the firm’s values.
