We are currently partnering with a university based in London, who are recruiting for a contracts/commercial lawyer to join their growing team on an initial 6-month basis with the view to go permanent thereafter.

This is a full-time position and the start date is subject to notice.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Draft, review, and amend HEI-specific and general contracts. Provide legal advice on governance, regulations, and compliance
  • Assess legal risks, manage external counsel, oversee litigation, and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Lead the Legal Services team, mentor staff, develop legal resources, and drive service improvements
  • Advise on policies, governance, and legal compliance. Represent the University externally and lead complex negotiations
  • Deliver training, review governance frameworks, and monitor legal developments to ensure compliance

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Qualified solicitor, barrister, or legal executive
  • Substantial relevant PQE
  • Extensive experience in the HEI sector
