Our Client is one of the largest Construction and Engineering Trade bodies in the UK

Description

Support the provision of:

  • legal and commercial, and wider business support advice and guidance service to Trade Bocy Members in the areas of non-contentious and contentious construction & engineering, commercial, IP - B2B and B2C relationships
  • in-house legal support service to corporate management - including corporate, commercial, IP, GDPR and property
  • influence and represent the organisation and it's members on business-related industry issues (lobbying and representation) with key industry stakeholders such as: BEIS, Cabinet Office and Construction Leadership Council
  • Some Disputes work.

Profile

The successful candidate will be a Lawyer, qualified in the UK or within another Common Law Jurisdiction.

They will:

  • be likely to have between 0 - 5 years of PQE
  • have construction experience of advising on standard and non-standard form construction contracts
  • have a willingness and ability to attend the head office of the organisation in Central London, 2 or more days per week during the course of their employment.
  • The Hiring Manager is open to considering candidates who have a background in Construction Disputes.

Desirable:

  • Sound knowledge of the UK construction industry
  • Familiarity with the legislative framework which affects construction contracts
  • 6 months or more experience in commercial contracts and/or governance related activities (NB: this is not a pre-requisite).
