Your new role
This is an opportunity to become part of the Firm's expanding Succession & Tax team in London. This opportunity is perfect for a STEP qualified Private Client solicitor who has demonstrated significant commercial success in the Succession and Tax field and is eager to play a key role in a well-established and thriving team.The chosen candidate will be tasked with managing Wills and Probate cases, as well as other Private Client responsibilities:
- Preparation of Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney: Drafting and advising on Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney for both UK-based and international clients.
- Estate Planning: Providing comprehensive estate planning services, including lifetime and post-death planning. This involves advising on inheritance tax, capital gains tax, and income tax, as well as creating lifetime trusts.
- Probate and Estate Administration: Obtaining grants of probate or letters of administration and administering estates, including those involving foreign domicile, re-sealing of grants, and intestate estates.
- Deeds Preparation: Preparing deeds of variation, deeds of gifts, and deeds of family arrangement.
- Trust Advice: Offering expert trust advice, particularly in the setup, management, and administration of trusts, in collaboration with our dedicated Trust Administration team.
What you'll need to succeed
- Qualified Solicitor in England and Wales: Ideally with 6+ years of post-qualification experience (PQE) (guidelines only).
- STEP Qualification: The successful candidate will ideally hold a STEP qualification.
- Previous experience as a Private Client Lawyer within a law firm.
- Demonstrated experience in handling Wills and Probate cases.
