Locum Housing Litigation Lawyer

Up to £50 per hour umbrella

Local Authority in a London Borough

3 month period initially, with very high possibility for extension

Full time, 1 day in the office per week

Are you a determined Housing Litigation Lawyer looking to make a real difference? Venn Group is working with an excellent local authority in a London Borough in their pursuit of a Locum Housing Litigation Lawyer on a locum basis for an initial 3-month period, with the very high potential for long-term extension.

Requirements:

  • A valid practising certificate in England as a Solicitor, Barrister or a Fellow of CILEX
  • Specialism within Housing Law and related legislation
  • Evidence of practising Housing Law post-qualification, particularly housing litigation, anti-social behaviour and possessions
  • Experience working within local authorities or for a relevant public sector organisation
  • An adaptable approach to work, being able to react to a constantly changing environment

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Advising the clients of the organisation on all aspects of Housing Law and providing representation when necessary
  • Working collaboratively across the authority with issues encompassing tenancy management
  • Undertaking research as requested in relation to Housing Law, including general housing litigation, anti-social behaviour and possessions
  • Liaising with the authority’s stakeholders as appropriate
  • Advising officers and members in a proactive and sensitive manner
  • Mentoring and training less experienced team members
  • Working efficiently under tight deadlines
