Team Structure

The team is part of the Employment Pensions and Private Wealth Department. It consists of 3 partners, 2 senior associates, 4 associates, a trainee, and a solicitor apprentice. The team collaborates closely with other lawyers in the pensions advisory, private wealth, insolvency, regulatory, and commercial litigation practices, some of whom are also deeply involved in the team's matters, in addition to working with the firm's complimentary practices.

The team handles various types of disputes arising from pension schemes, with a focus on achieving outcomes through alternative dispute resolution, mediations, and court proceedings. The associates work on professional negligence claims, rectification/construction claims, part 8 & part 7 claims, judicial review/public law issues, contract disputes, international disputes, scheme funding disputes, investment claims, RPI/CPI matters, among others. Compared to some other pensions disputes practices, the team has a broad range of work, giving associates exposure to different types of pension-related disputes. The team has been involved in many leading industry cases, including those heard before the highest courts. Clients range from pension scheme trustees and sponsoring employers to multinationals, banks, charities, not-for-profits, actuaries, scheme administrators, lawyers, and documentation providers.

The team, both collectively and individually, has been highly recognized and top-ranked in the Legal 500 and Chambers directories.

Main Responsibilities

Clear, concise, and unambiguous preparation and drafting of documentation

Managing matters under the supervision of Senior Associates and Partners

Delegating tasks to trainees and paralegals

Conducting legal research using internal and external knowledge management resources

Assisting in the preparation of legal articles

Developing internal and external networks of contacts

Attending business development and profile-raising events
