Service Care Legal are working on behalf of a London Borough Council who are seeking a Planning Lawyer to join their team on a permanent basis. Please see below further details within regards to this role.

We are seeking a Planning Lawyer to join our legal team, providing expert legal advice on Planning, Regeneration, and Highways matters.

Job Purpose:

  • Support the management of the legal department.
  • Provide high-level, proactive legal advice to the Council, its members, and officers.
  • Serve as a key contact for senior officers and members regarding legal issues in Planning, Regeneration, and Highways.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or FILEX.

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Significant Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in planning law.
  • Strong understanding of risk management in corporate governance.
  • Well-developed expertise in planning law and local government law.
  • Experience advising councils or boards in public meetings and reports.
  • Knowledge of UK and EU legal trends affecting local government.
  • Experience contributing to corporate policy and strategy development.
