This leading global law firm, specialising in sectors including insurance, transport, infrastructure, energy, and trade and commodities, offering a comprehensive range of contentious and non-contentious legal services businesses operating across the world.

The firm's highly regarded Planning team assist both public and private clients on the full range of contentious and transactional planning matters. The group has an impressive track record ranging from complex and controversial strategic developments to heritage property and high value homeowner projects. The team consists of four partners, two senior associates, and three associates.

The department work regularly with local planning authorities, project stakeholders and developers, often in tandem with the firm's wider real estate, construction and finance teams, to offer dedicated and bespoke client teams. These teams are further complimented by the firm's expertise in the infrastructure, aviation and hospitality sectors.

At the front end, the Planning team support clients in meeting tight deadlines, undertaking planning applications, feasibility reviews, and pursuing compulsory purchase orders. For contentious matters, they help clients devise solutions, resist challenges, suppress grants and undertake planning appeals.

The firm are now seeking a solicitor to join their Planning team in London. The ideal candidate will have gained experience in Planning law from a highly regarded City or international practice in London. You will also ideally have experience in planning matters relating to Infrastructure projects.

As part of the role, you will advise on broad range of both contentious and non-contentious aspects of town and country planning for clients in the commercial, industrial, infrastructure and residential sectors. Non-contentious matters would include negotiating and drafting section 106 and highways agreements and advising on complex strategic development projects. On the contentious side, you would advise on judicial and statutory review, compulsory purchase and public inquiries. You would also be expected to assist with specialist infrastructure projects under the Planning Act 2008 (NSIPs).
