Service Care Legal are seeking an experienced and motivated Property Lawyer to join a local authority on a locum basis. The role will be focusing on temporary accommodation and right to buy matters. Please find below further details about the role.

ROLE: Property Lawyer
LOCATION: North London (Office-based, 2 days per week)
CONTRACT: 3 months ongoing
RATE: 32.00 to 36.00 per hour LTD (DOE and interview performance)

About the Role
  • To manage a varied caseload and work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure the effective and legally compliant delivery of services.
  • Provide legal advice and guidance on property matters related to temporary accommodation and right to buy transactions.
  • Manage a varied caseload, including handling property transactions, leases, agreements, and ensuring compliance with relevant housing and property laws.
  • Work closely with colleagues and stakeholders to resolve legal issues and provide practical solutions.
  • Advise on the right to buy process, including eligibility, statutory requirements, and conveyancing.
The Person
  • A qualified Solicitor, CILEx or Barrister with experience of working with temporary accommodation and right to buy matters.
  • Strong negotiation and advisory skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal matters in an accessible way.
  • Ability to manage a varied caseload effectively, with excellent time-management skills.
