The Opportunity This top 100 national law firm are looking for an experienced Associate/Senior Associate with 4-8 years PQE to join the Real Estate Residential department in their London office. The Ideal candidate will have experience in the following aspects of a real estate financing transaction including:

  • Understanding the role of valuations, insurance, lender-controlled accounts, etc.
  • Dealing with due diligence of the property including reviewing title, searches, CPSE and other standard enquiries, etc.
  • Running CP checklists and Mortgagee Requisition Lists.
  • Reporting to lenders, including in a City of London format.
  • Agreeing appropriate completion undertakings.

Role requirements

  • Basic knowledge of banking and finance transactional work e.g. basic understanding of a loan agreement, security documents such as a debenture, and typical conditions precedent requirements.
  • Ability to draft, produce and review certain ancillary documents in finance transactions e.g. board and shareholder resolutions, officer certificates, notices of assignment, and deliverables under security documents.
  • Experience of signing and closing procedures e.g. signing requirements, corporate searches.
  • Awareness and exercise of financial management skills.
  • Good business development and marketing skills.
  • An ability to work in a team environment.
  • Experience of co-coordinating with local counsels in different jurisdictions would be an added bonus.
