Are you a passionate and experienced Principal Planning Lawyer or a Senior Planning Lawyer looking for the step up? Venn Group is working with a fantastic local authority in South London in their search for a Senior/Principal Planning Lawyer on a locum basis for an initial 6-month period, with the potential for extension depending on performance, project needs and permanent recruitment.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Lawyer, with a valid practising certificate in the UK
  • Specialism within Planning Law, with experience of practising post-qualification
  • Experience in management is advantageous
  • Experience working within local authorities, or for a public sector organisation

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Advising the clients of the organisation on all aspects of Planning Law and providing representation when necessary
  • Advising on all areas of Planning Law, including rural and suburban planning
  • Attending and representing the Council in evening Committees three times a month
  • Advising officers and members in a proactive and sensitive manner
  • Mentoring and training less experienced team members
  • Deputising for heads of legal and other principal lawyers when necessary
