SENIOR LEGAL COUNSEL - TECHNOLOGYLONDON; HYBRID WORKING - 2 DAYS IN OFFICE, 3 FROM HOME£125,000 - £145,000 PLUS PACKAGEPERMANENT ROLERole Overview: Morgan Philips Specialist Recruitment is presently representing an exciting and fast growing AI analytics and data science business in their search for a Senior Legal Counsel. Joining a dynamic team, the successful candidate will work closely with C-Suite on a daily basis and make a significant impact during an exciting period of change and growth for the business.With a primary focus on commercial contracts, you will also support the business in areas such as data privacy and compliance. The ideal candidate for this role is a Senior Commercial Technology Lawyer who will be able to put their strong commercial acumen and experience drafting bespoke and template licence agreements for cloud based platforms to good use.Key Accountabilities:

  • Lead negotiations of commercial contracts with key customers and suppliers.
  • Draft and review bespoke and template licence agreements for cloud-based platforms.
  • Ensure contracts align with best practices and appropriate risk management and mitigations.
  • Manage the company's overall legal risk position.
  • Serve as a guardian of risk mitigation, contributing to the development and implementation of risk management strategies.
  • Handle data privacy queries.
  • Contribute to the definition & fulfilment of ethics guidelines in the use of AI & customer data.

About You:

  • 8 - 10 years PQE as a UK qualified lawyer (or as a qualified lawyer in a common law based jurisdiction).
  • In-house experience ideally having worked with a small to medium sized software vendor, IT services company or cloud based platform.
  • Solid experience in drafting and negotiating standard and complex technology contracts including subscription licence agreements, services agreements, SaaS contracts, statements of work, framework and master services agreements, partnership agreements, letters of intent, commercial term sheets, support and maintenance agreements, memorandum of understanding, development agreements and heads of agreement.
  • Expertise in privacy matters including drafting and negotiating data processing agreements.
  • An interest in artificial intelligence
