About the Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Legal Counsel to join a dynamic legal team, supporting a high-profile confidential M&A project involving multi-jurisdictional restructuring within BAT entities. This role requires a seasoned legal professional with strong M&A expertise to oversee due diligence, coordinate legal counsel across multiple jurisdictions, and support negotiations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the legal due diligence process for the M&A project.

  • Act as Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for legal counsel across different jurisdictions during due diligence.

  • Manage and coordinate legal queries, providing updates to Senior Counsel and escalating issues where necessary.

  • Collaborate with advisors and internal stakeholders to ensure timely project deliverables.

  • Support contract negotiations with suppliers and assist in finalising project documentation.

Skills & Experience Required:
  • UK-qualified lawyer with a minimum of 10 years' post-qualification experience in an international law firm or as in-house counsel for a multinational company.

  • Extensive M&A experience, including managing complex due diligence processes.

  • Strong ability to identify risks, advise on structuring options, and develop risk mitigation strategies.

  • Exceptional drafting skills with attention to detail.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
