- Support the day-to-day managerial responsibilities of the Housing team, ensuring compliance with professional body requirements.
- Provide advice, casework, representation, and advocacy services on housing law matters, including Homelessness, Disrepair, Eviction, and Possession.
- Undertake your own advocacy and assist with the legal aid contract, billing files, completing legal aid applications, and complying with Legal Aid Agency and SQM requirements.
- Guide and support paralegals in developing their professional skills through one-to-one sessions and case oversight.
- Build and maintain links with local community groups, advice networks, and legal professionals.
- Carry out other duties as reasonably requested.
- A clean, valid Practising Certificate.
- Proven track record in delivering legal aid work with a wide range of experience.
- Strong management skills and a commitment to social justice.
- Previous supervisory experience and ability to work to key performance indicators.
- Excellent client care skills and sensitivity in dealing with vulnerable clients.
- Strong analytical and organisational skills, with the ability to use initiative and sound judgment.
- Extensive experience in all housing-related work.
- Experience in own advocacy is an advantage.
- Excellent IT skills, familiar with Microsoft Office applications and document management.
