Learning Behaviour Mentor

Salary -£23K - £26K per annum

Type - Permanent

We are currently recruiting for a Behaviour Mentor to work with children and young people with challenging behaviour based in East Ham, London E6

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with teaching staff to support the education and development of children and young people with challenging behaviour. Your main responsibilities will include:
• Providing 1-2-1 support to students with challenging behaviour, using effective behaviour management strategies to promote positive behaviour and encourage participation in learning activities
• Collaborating with teaching staff and external professionals to develop tailored learning plans for students, monitoring progress and behaviour, and reporting any concerns
• Supporting the social and emotional development of students, promoting self-esteem and confidence
• Encouraging and motivating students to engage in learning, providing additional support where necessary
• Participating in training and development opportunities to further enhance your knowledge and skills

Requirements:
• Previous experience working with children or young people with challenging behaviour is essential
• Excellent behaviour management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with others
• A patient and resilient attitude, with the ability to remain calm under pressure
• A relevant qualification in Psychology, Counselling, Education, or a related field is desirable
