Learning Mentor – Wandsworth

We are seeking a dedicated Learning Mentor to join a vibrant team at a well-regarded school in Wandsworth. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work closely with students, providing tailored support to enhance their learning experience and wellbeing.

Learning Mentor | Role Overview:

As a Learning Mentor, you will play a pivotal role in supporting students across a range of abilities, ensuring they are engaged, motivated, and progressing in their learning. You will work both 1:1 and in small groups, helping students overcome academic or social challenges, and promote a positive learning environment.

Learning Mentor | Key responsibilities include:
  • Providing academic support across various subjects, assisting students with their learning and encouraging independent study.
  • Offering mentoring and guidance, helping students with personal development, confidence-building, and goal setting.
  • Supporting students with social, emotional, and behavioural needs, creating a safe space for them to engage and thrive.
  • Liaising with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to ensure each student receives the support they need to succeed.
  • Monitoring progress and providing feedback to help drive continuous improvement.
 
Learning Mentor | What We’re Looking For:
  • Previous experience working in an educational setting, ideally as a Learning Mentor or in a similar role (e.g. TA, SEN support).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • A proactive and empathetic approach to supporting students’ individual needs.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • A passion for education and supporting students to achieve their full potential.
