MILK Education are working in partnership with an Alternative provision in Greenwich who are recruiting for a Secondary Learning Mentor. This opportunity is perfect for someone who is experience or has transferable skills. This exciting opportunity available for a confident, reliable and passionate individual who has a can do attitude and can support in boosting confidence and attainment of their students. This Ofsted rated Good school is looking for a long term Learning Mentor to support, boost mindsets and confidence, de-escalate students in crisis, manage behaviours that challenge.
You must be able to demonstrate a level of flexibility working within varying age groups across KS3 - KS4. You will be required to assist with the delivery of daily lessons and support on a 1:1 and small group basis with children across both core and foundation lessons. The pupils do have a range of needs and it is important to have an understanding of SEMH, ADHD and ASC.
Your role and responsibilities:
- Creating and implementing behaviour strategies
- Support with boosting confident and attainment
- Identifying areas of need and working with multidisciplinary teams to best support students
- De-escalate, encourage and redirect students
In order to be considered for this role we require you meet the following criteria;
- Have eligibility to work in the UK or be a UK resident
- Have at least 6 months school based experience of working in a primary setting
- Two suitable references covering the last 2 years
- Hold a current DBS that is registered with the update service or be willing to apply for a new one
