My client a medium sized law firm are seeking an Accounts Assistant to join their team. This role involves managing overheads and disbursement invoices, including staff expenses and corporate credit cards. The ideal candidate will have experience with the Elite 3e system and be capable of handling client ledgers, disbursements, and office accounts. As our firm is anticipating expansion, the volume of work will grow, requiring excellent organisational skills.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Assist with the overhead and disbursement purchase ledger including counsel fee notes.
  • Manage expenses and credit card postings as required.
  • Handle file closures and write off of irrecoverable WIP and disbursements.
  • Perform other duties as delegated from time to time by the Financial Controller.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience of purchase ledger.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft packages and other relevant IT systems.
  • High standard of numeracy, precise and accurate with attention to detail.
  • Well organised, uses initiative, prioritises appropriately, applies self, shows attention to detail, manages own workload and meets deadlines.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills (respectful, positive, articulate, professional and sympathetic).
  • Delivers helpful internal services with a “can do” approach, shows commercial awareness and represents the department/firm appropriately.
  • Shares information and ideas.
  • Shows sound judgement and decision-making skills; acts within boundaries.
