Our client, a highly regarded London-based solicitors specialising in crime, family law and human rights have an opening for a Legal Aid Biller to join their criminal team.
Responsibilities
- You will be working within a team of 8 responsible for the following:
- Billing and submitting Legal Help (controlled work) files to the LAA.
- Preparing bills for Inquests.
- Organising the files to go out to the cost drafters following the workflow in proclaim and updating the spreadsheet accordingly on a daily basis. Sending approved bills for Service.
- Checking Bills of Costs.
- Drafting Schedules of Costs to strict deadlines.
- Preparing reports.
- Drafting CRM7’s.
- Working closely with team members and assisting with any other tasks and ad hoc duties as well as providing cover when necessary.
Candidate Profile
- Previous Legal Aid/Legal Help criminal billing experience gained within a law firm.
