My client, a highly regarded law firm, are seeking to recruit an experienced Property Paralegal who is diligent, self-motivated and a fast learner. The successful candidate will be working directly with a Partner. They will ideally have a minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a similar role and be able to hit the ground running with variety of property matters in either commercial or residential, or preferably both. They must have technical knowledge commensurate to their level of experience as well as a pro-active approach to risk management, a willingness to learn and a good knowledge of property transactions. Client care is a priority of my client, and the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate when they have gone over and above to provide a top-quality service to the client. They will be keen to progress and grow within the department. Relevant professional training will be provided and career development opportunities available to the right candidate.

Essential skills

  • Educated to degree level
  • Completed LPC or SQE 1
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Able to work on own initiative as well as part of a team
  • Be able to demonstrate confidence and self-motivation
  • Able to work to strict deadlines and in a pressurised environment
  • Attention to detail is essential
  • IT literate
  • Be able to demonstrate a willingness to learn and to progress

Essential Experience

Experience in property including: -

  • Freehold and Leasehold sales and purchases.
  • Re- Mortgages and re-finances including properties in companies.
  • Buy to Let (including Company) purchases and re-finances.
  • Registration including companies house and Land Registry.
  • Drafting and Filing of SDLT Returns.
  • Experience in drafting reports on title and reports on mortgage.
  • Dealing with replies to pre-contract enquiries.
  • Drafting lender standard documents (e.g. mortgage deeds/guarantees).

Desirable skills

  • Experience in drafting commercial leases and ancillary documents.
  • Experience in dealing with preparing CPSE replies.
  • Experience in dealing with preparation of contract packages and data rooms.
