Job Title: Librarian
Location: Islington
Term: Temporary, currently until 23rd June - with possibility of extension
Are you passionate about connecting communities with knowledge? Our client is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Librarians to join their vibrant Library & Heritage Services team in the pursuit of a fairer borough!
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, customer-focused library services.
- Manage a service point, overseeing lending services, ICT, and learning resources.
- Lead engaging reader development activities, including storytelling sessions for children.
- Support, motivate, and develop a team of up to 10 staff members.
- Manage delegated budgets and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Foster positive working relationships within a collaborative team environment.
What We're Looking For:
- A relevant Librarian or Information Qualification or substantial experience in a library setting.
- Must have experience of working in a public library at a management level.
- Must have experience or running a library on a day to day basis and of supervising and line managing staff
- Excellent communication skills and a commitment to social inclusion.
- Strong leadership abilities to support and develop staff.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required.
- Proficiency in using information technology systems to enhance public access to resources.
