Are you an experienced librarian looking for a new opportunity in a vibrant public library setting? We are seeking a Librarian to join Archway Library on a temporary basis to support service delivery and manage day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and oversee the daily running of the library, ensuring excellent customer service.
  • Supervise and line manage staff, including recruitment, training, and performance management.
  • Deliver engaging reader development activities, including rhyme time sessions and school class visits.
  • Manage library stock selection, maintenance, and promotion.
  • Oversee building management and health & safety compliance.
  • Assist in the use and promotion of IT services within the library.
  • Produce reports, statistics, and other administrative tasks as required.
About You:
  • Experience working at a management level in a public library.
  • Strong leadership and staff supervision skills.
  • Knowledge of building management and health & safety procedures.
  • Excellent customer service and IT skills.
  • Confident in delivering interactive sessions for children and young people.
