Procurement Manager

Central London - Hybrid Working

£65,000-£68,000 + benefits

We are looking for a value add and people focused Procurement Manager to deliver change and professionalisation to an established procurement function within a leading education organisation in central London.

This position reports into the CFO and is offering high levels of autonomy to lead change within the function.

We are looking for a people centric business partner who is humble and energetic.

Wish List

  • Professional certification in procurement (CIPS, CPM, CSCP)
  • Prior experience leading procurement teams
  • Experience of tenders and supplier contract review/negotiation

The Role

The successful Procurement Manager will manage the following:

  • To effectively manage all procurement activities, identifying opportunities to increase value for money, transparency, supply chain efficiencies and savings.
  • Own the procurement strategy and policy to meet business needs
  • Act as a strategic partner to the organisation in regards of procurement activity
  • Sharing and promoting best practice across the business and guiding colleagues on how to ensure adherence to procurement policy.
  • Enhance procurement processes, reporting and systems to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Develop and deliver 1-3 year category strategies resulting in sourcing projects to meet business requirements whilst minimising the cost of ownership.
  • Strategic sourcing, execution, implementation and overall management of various programmes.
  • Manage complex procurement initiatives and sourcing projects through the full procurement process including contract award and signature.
  • Govern contract management, supplier performance and relationship management for all supplier agreements reviewing at least on an annual basis.
  • Take responsibility for all applicable procurement compliance matters. Proactively address any compliance issues internally and externally.
  • Lead tenders and negotiations ensuring appropriate plans are in place for the process and next steps following a decision on the supplier.
  • Provide excellent leadership and direction for the team to become a centre of excellence for procurement.
  • Support the internal stakeholder group during the annual budget process,
  • Ensure cost approval processes are adhered to for capex or operational budgets.
  • Preparation of monthly procurement reports to SLT.

We are looking for a proactive Procurement leader who looks to drive improvement in their roles.

Someone with prior experience in a procurement management role covering a broad range of day to day responsibilities is essential. Someone with prior experience improving or developing a procurement department would be ideal for this opportunity but it could equally suit someone with passion and enthusiasm looking to step upwards.

We need someone ambitious who has a commercial mindset and the people skills to add value and pro-actively make improvements across the business.
