Finegreen are supporting a large NHS organisation in the appointment of a senior healthcare engineering professional for an initial period of 6 months.

This role requires highly developed advanced technical, practical, and theoretical knowledge of complex hospital engineering systems. Supporting the ongoing development of all M&E disciplines within the hospital site, and the management of engineering team associated.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Director of Estates and Facilities in relation to all (M&E) engineering operations within the Trust, have oversight of engineering teams as a subject matter expert in hospital engineering matters;
  • Provide leadership and support to APs to ensure ongoing compliance and assurance within the healthcare environment;
  • Embed compliance and understanding of outcomes related to audits undertaken, action planning and delivery of improvement measures related;
  • This role will have both professional responsibility (so competency, training and time-served practice in both healthcare and healthcare engineering infrastructure and systems is a must) as well as ensuring regular reporting to senior management on current state of play and/or system or infrastructure weaknesses;
  • Form part of the Estates senior leadership team and will work collaboratively with colleagues within both Estates and the wider teams to ensure effective management and delivery of services across the hospital and in line with the values of the organisation;
  • Provide advice, guidance, and support on a broad range of complex mechanical and wider engineering issues, supporting the development and reporting of wider engineering governance including robust risk reporting;
  • Provide advice to the organisation as required on the engineering elements associated with business case preparation and submissions as well as providing support with annual conditional backlog assessments for ERIC;
Ideal Candidate:
  • Current Chartered Engineer or working towards accreditation (or equivalent experience);
  • Highly developed advanced technical, practical, and theoretical knowledge of complex hospital engineering systems;
  • Experience and knowledge of NHS procedures, systems, legislation and guidance;
  • Track record of successfully implementing significant change within a complex environment;
  • Significant experience in the management and development of M&E engineering staff within a healthcare environment.
