M&E Site Manager - London-based SME
Company Overview: We are a London-based SME specializing in delivering comprehensive mechanical and electrical (M&E) services to both the public and private sectors. Our projects range from one-off installations and servicing to large-scale capital investment schemes and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) programs. Additionally, we provide clients with emergency call-out services, available 24/7, year-round.
Role Overview: As an M&E Site Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of projects. You will be responsible for managing multiple M&E projects simultaneously, ensuring that all work is completed safely, on time, and within budget. The M&E Site Manager will work closely with site supervisors, engineers, and subcontractors to plan and deliver projects effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and manage projects from start to finish, including scheduling, budgeting, and cost control.
- Ensure regular communication with supervisors, engineers, subcontractors, and all other stakeholders.
- As an M&E Site Manager, you will oversee project direction, ensuring all work complies with client specifications, while managing costs in conjunction with the Commercial Manager.
- Ensure compliance with legal, financial, and procurement regulations to mitigate risks.
- Conduct regular reviews of project statuses to ensure deadlines are met.
- Design and quote for commercial heating systems and generate quotations for additional works.
- Promote and enforce health and safety regulations, conducting site inspections to ensure compliance.
- Directly manage Site Supervisors, ensuring the smooth day-to-day management of projects.
- Keep clients informed by attending meetings and providing regular project updates.
- Handle unexpected problems or delays, coordinating with the team to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Provide regular progress reports to senior management and other stakeholders.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Qualifications:
- Gas Safe Passport (CPA1, COCDN1, CIGA1, ICPN1, TPCP1, BMP1, CORT1) – Essential.
- SMSTS/SSSTS certification – Essential.
- Experience working with commercial boiler houses and plant rooms (100Kw to 5Mw systems).

- Problem-solving skills, critical for resolving on-site issues and ensuring project success.
- Ability to motivate teams, especially under pressure, ensuring deadlines are met.
- Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to handling project challenges.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools to coordinate and manage tasks efficiently.
Experience:
- Proven experience as an M&E Site Manager, with a successful track record of managing and delivering projects.
- Previous experience in the social housing sector is advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
Special Requirements:
- Fluency in English – Essential.
- Full UK driving license – Preferred.
- Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check.
- Flexibility to work outside of standard hours when needed to meet project requirements.
