An exciting opportunity has arisen at WorkLyf Group with our client for a On-Track-Machine operator / maintainer in Plumbstead.

As a OTM Operator / maintainer, you will be instrumental in providing a high-quality and efficient maintenance provision to the customer by operating and maintaining the rail grinding and milling machines operating out of Plumstead depot for maintenance activity on the Crossrail Elizabeth Line.

This is a unique opportunity to work with a top-notch piece of equipment, for a high-profile customer. This role would be ideal for an experienced technician with either an electrical / mechanical / hydraulics / heavy goods background and a track record of heavy plant machinery.

The role will include:

Operating the On Track Linsinger Rail Milling Machine and Robel engineering trains under the supervision of senior operators.

Carrying out maintenance, repair, and fault-finding activities on On Track Machines to a high standard

Providing information to support the creation of reports of any failures/breakdowns

Partaking in various continuous improvement initiatives

What we would love you to bring to the role:

Flexible approach to working hours and ability to work shifts including nights when necessary. Track record of working effectively with diesel engineering technology and associated systems and controls; with heavy plant machinery, ideally yellow plant rolling stock. Competent in electrical fault-finding.

Self- starter with strong ability to build relationships and work as part of a team; High level of professionalism & strong sense of customer satisfaction. Appetite to progress the company forward, strong adherence to Health & safety procedures & ability to follow instructions. Level 3 in hydraulics / vehicle maintenance / electrical / mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.
