Job Overview
I'm recruiting fora skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a strong Facilities Maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of mechanical systems within our facilities, including performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, and conducting repairs as needed. This role will involve working split shifts, covering both early and late shifts as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine inspections of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and other equipment, to identify and address potential issues.
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks according to established schedules to ensure the ongoing reliability of facility equipment
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and malfunctions, diagnosing problems and implementing effective solutions to minimize downtime.
  • Complete repairs and replacements of faulty mechanical components, ensuring all work is carried out safely and efficiently
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work performed, parts used, and equipment status, using computerized maintenance management systems.
  • Collaborate with other members of the maintenance team to prioritize tasks and optimize workflow
  • Participate in training and professional development activities to stay current with industry trends and advancements in mechanical maintenance practices
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience working as a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, preferably in a facilities maintenance environment.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, pumps, and motors.
  • Experience with troubleshooting equipment issues and performing repairs using hand and power tools.
  • Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) for recording and tracking maintenance activities.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of workmanship.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with colleagues and clients.
  • Flexibility to work split shifts, including early mornings and late evenings, as required.
