Introduction: We are seeking a skilled and proactive Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our clients Facilities Management teams. This role involves ensuring the optimal performance and safety of mechanical systems within facilities, including HVAC systems, plumbing, and other essential infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mechanical Systems Maintenance: Oversee the operation, maintenance, and optimisation of all mechanical systems, including HVAC units, plumbing, and other critical infrastructure.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure the longevity and efficiency of mechanical systems.
  • Troubleshooting and Repairs: Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues promptly to minimise downtime and maintain operational continuity.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure all mechanical systems comply with relevant health and safety regulations, conducting regular inspections to identify potential hazards.
  • Project Management: Manage and coordinate installations, upgrades, and modifications of mechanical systems, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other maintenance staff, contractors, and vendors to ensure efficient facility operations.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs for compliance and reporting purposes.

Qualifications:

  • Education: NVQ Level 3 in a Mechanical Discipline or equivalent
  • Experience: Proven experience in mechanical maintenance within facilities management, with a strong understanding of HVAC systems, plumbing, and building automation systems.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications in mechanical engineering or facilities management are advantageous.
  • Skills:
    • Strong problem-solving abilities.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency in using maintenance management software.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
