Document Controller

Our client specialise in all aspects of natural stone design, procurement, and installation. While stone contracting is at the core of their business, they also offer consultancy services to clients and architects.

Due to company growth, our client is looking to bring an experienced Document Controller in to join their team.

You will be responsible for managing project documentation, ensuring compliance with protocols, coordinating document distribution, maintaining registers, tracking revisions, and providing support for administrative tasks related to site operations and project documentation.

  • Salary - £37,000 - £40,000 (depending on experience).

Document Controller

Position Overview

  • Manage project documentation protocols, naming conventions, and compliance with document management systems.
  • Receive, file, and distribute project drawings through document management systems and email.
  • Create and update project document registers weekly.
  • Verify new drawings meet document protocols and communicate with designers for corrections.
  • Issue new and revised documents to main contractors via document control programs (A-site, Aconex, etc.).
  • Track comments, coordinate amendments, and ensure proper distribution of documents.
  • Coordinate the issuance of technical documents, sample submittals, drawings, and commercial correspondence.
  • Organize bookings for deliveries, inductions, and site-related administrative tasks.
  • Raise RFIs, manage responses, and maintain up-to-date registers.
  • Assist with document searches, cataloging site instructions, and supporting sample submittals, health and safety reports, and other project documentation.

Position Requirements

  • Must have experience within the construction industry.
  • Experience with document control software is required; familiarity with Aconex is advantageous but not essential.
  • Strong IT skills in Excel, Outlook & Word.
  • Great communication and organisational skills.
