My client, a leading City based law firm, are seeking a General Office Assistant to join their Facilities team.This is an entry level role and would suit a bright and enthusiastic candidate who is looking for their first role within a City based law firm. 6 months plus experience within an office environment would be desirable, but not essential.

The Role

We are looking to recruit an energetic and confident individual to join the team. The individual will be required to:

  • Process new deeds/Wills/files etc electronically before sending to storage;
  • deal with retrieval of current deeds/files/Wills etc upon request of staff
  • ad hoc tasks ie retrieving boxes, picking up confidential shredding sacks, laminating, binding documents and delivering personal packages, refreshments and stationery to departments etc.
  • maintain the file destruction programme.
  • convert manual processes into automated/electronic versions.
  • digitise and scan paperwork to make the department as paperless as possible.
  • categorise, scan and distribute post to staff
  • order bike, small van or international couriers from the suppliers of these services.
  • collect and process outgoing mail.
  • photocopy documents and plans as instructed by departments
  • sign for courier deliveries and scan/deliver items when received.
  • help with the banking run
  • check minor faults with photocopying machines (e.g. paper jams) and call an engineer if fault persists, replace toner cartridges when necessary.
  • basic maintenance work for example changing a light bulb, replacing batteries in door guards or help with moving equipment when required (training will be provided).

The Candidate

We are looking for a confident, enthusiastic individual, with good interpersonal skills, who can communicate with members of the firm at all levels. Reliability and attending to detail is of primary importance in this role.

Experience is not necessary as full training will be provided.

Must have the ability to attend work on a regular basis and be punctual as team working is extremely important.
