Outreach Programme Manager (Maternity Cover)

Hours: 36.5 hours/week

A leading educational Institute have a Special Collections division. The Special Collections is home to the university’s collection of rare books, archives and manuscripts, and the outreach team deliver an education programme for schools and community groups that enables access to this rich resource

The postholder will be responsible for developing and coordinating key aspects of the Special Collections outreach programme for the campus and for nurturing the department’s links to local community groups, schools and the internal community. The role may in part be suitable for remote working. The role holder will be expected to work a minimum of 40% of their time on campus. The pattern of on-campus and remote working will be agreed with the role holder.

Key Requirements:

The role requires someone with an undergraduate qualification in a humanities or science subject area together with a recognised teaching qualification in Primary/Secondary school teaching or the equivalent experience.

They will be a confident teacher and facilitator, with experience of designing learning experiences for school and community audiences with a wide variety of learning needs. You will also be committed to enabling access to historic collections for all audiences and might already have experience working with historic collections.
