Research Assistant

£26,000 go up to £28,000 after probation

We are seeking curious, organised, and enthusiastic graduate-level candidates to embark on an exciting career journey! This full-time, permanent position includes a comprehensive 6-month training program designed to set you up for long-term success with career progression.

About the Research Role:Your training will begin at the company's Shoreditch office, with an initial requirement of being in the office five days a week. After completing the training period, this will shift to four days a week.

You'll be joining an international organisation specialising in tracing missing and unknown beneficiaries of unclaimed estates, property, and assets worldwide.

What We're Looking For:While we don't require previous experience for this trainee program, successful candidates will demonstrate the following:

  • Outstanding communication skills - both written and verbal
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • The ability to work well under pressure and manage tasks independently
  • A professional, empathetic approach when dealing with sensitive situations
  • A determination to see cases through to completion
  • While not essential, a degree in a research-intensive field (e.g., History, Anthropology, or Humanities) is a plus.

What We Offer:

  • A starting salary of £26,000 per annum during the training period
  • A salary increase to £28,000 per annum upon graduation to a Researcher role

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research in-house and through external resources, including visits to historical archives
  • Provide administrative support, including scanning, photocopying, and filing
  • Assist Case Managers with written correspondence and the preparation of reports
  • Handle the ordering and distribution of legal documents and certificates
  • Plot and process family tree requests
  • Support Case Managers with more complex cases
  • Perform any additional administrative duties relevant to the role as required
