Due to their continued success and subsequent growth one of our key clients is currently looking to recruit an Engineering Manager to work at their London headquarters.
The role will be working as part of their global in-house engineering and estates team, managing all external electrical and mechanical services.

This is a new role that has just been created and will be our client’s (the Head of Global Engineering) number 2/right-hand person to oversee the engineering and compliance across their London and EMEA portfolio

 

The ideal candidate will be from an electrical engineering background who has either held supervisor or compliance manager responsibilities in the past/current and ideally within a critical or corporate environment.

The role requires someone to oversee the day-to-day engineering activities across the portfolio and be the first escalation contact for the M&E team on site to report to.

This role would be based in the clients London City HQ and the working/office environment across all locations is a fast-paced trader/broker environment.

 

The main duties for the role are as follows:

 

  • Provide technical expertise to support and challenge internal and external teams to find fast and effective solutions and challenges across the Global Real Estate portfolio.
  • Work with external mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering providers to strengthen relationships, ensure best in class service & ensure alignment with Global standards.
  • Assist in the set-up of planned preventative maintenance schedules in accordance with SFG20 or local requirements / manufacturer guidelines.
  • Ensure the M&E teams PPMs are completed, and all supporting documentation is being uploaded to the CAFM system ensuring detailed records are maintained.
  • Manage 3rd party maintenance visits, ensuring they are coordinated with local stakeholders whilst minimising disruption to the business.
  • Manage Service Agreements, EOP, SOP, Escalation procedures, RAM’s, EWS, Extra Works quotations etc.
  • Manage the client’s online platform to develop a strategy of optimisation for Consumption / Cost savings for each location.
  • Develop a Life Cycle Strategy to provide a detailed analysis on critical infrastructure replacement requirements globally.
  • Lead the change control process for all engineering tasks, strengthening both coordination and collaboration with Technology peers.
  • Develop a Management Report providing statistics and analysis of the clients Global Engineering performance, focusing on ESG, Budget, Risk, Lifecycle & Critical Alarms / Failures.
  • Ensure all engineering practices and systems comply with local and international regulations, code requirements and safety standards.
  • Provide assistance / expertise to the business, attending Silver Team calls during critical building / system failures, leading teams and coordination / communication during incidents, completing de-briefs and providing full incident reporting post incident close out.
  • Provide communication and planning / end-to-end delivery of all Building shutdowns.
  • Ensure CAFM system remains fully updated across all Regions.

 

Applicants for the role must be able to meet the following criteria: 

  • Fully electrically qualified to C&G, degree or HND level.
  • Excellent knowledge of building systems.
  • Previous experience of compliance within commercial buildings.
  • Strong understanding of critical systems.
  • Excellent people skills.
  • Ability to deal with people at all levels.
  • Strong communication skills – verbal and written.
