HVAC Installation/Service Engineer
Location: Watford
Salary: 17-25 per hour (depending on experience)
Job Type: Permanent contract
Nicholas Associates are proud to be working on behalf of our client, a forward-thinking and progressive company within the HVAC industry. We are currently seeking an experienced HVAC Installation/Service Engineer to join their growing team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with a prestigious customer base across a wide range of sectors, including pharmaceuticals, healthcare, telecoms, and more.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install and maintain a variety of air conditioning and refrigeration equipment, including split systems, multi-split systems, and VRV/VRF systems
- Effectively diagnose faults and failures with equipment, providing timely and efficient solutions
- Perform routine planned preventative maintenance
- Ensure all necessary documentation related to maintenance works is accurately completed and coordinated
- Liaise with domestic and commercial clients to maintain positive relationships and deliver excellent service
- Adhere to health & safety regulations and client-specific site requirements at all times
- Participate in an on-call rota to provide 24/7 support
- Carry out risk assessments and ensure a safe working environment for both colleagues and clients
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders and provide updates as required
Who We're Looking For:
- Minimum NVQ Level 2 qualification in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, with F-Gas/EN 378 compliance
- Proven experience with VRV/VRF systems, coldrooms, chilled water systems, and close control systems
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships
- Electrical competence, including the ability to read wiring schematics and test control circuits (desirable)
- A "can-do" attitude with the ability to work to deadlines and under pressure
- Willingness to work away from home and be flexible with working hours, including night work if needed
- Full driving licence and the ability to obtain a DBS certificate
