I'm recruiting for a company based in London, specialising in advanced nuclear technologies in commercial maritime for ocean transport and heavy industry.

They are looking for a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer who has experience in mechanical design in both marine and nuclear industries. You will be responsible for managing research, analysis and reporting on advanced nuclear technology and supporting the design and development of power conversions and auxiliary systems for floating nuclear power plants.

Responsibilities:

-Thermodynamic modelling of power conversion and auxiliary systems.

-Produce high quality technical reports, calculations and academic papers.

-Performing first-principle engineering calculations to investigate feasibility of high-level design concepts.

-Supporting the Principal Marine Engineer and Naval Architect with the integration of a Floating Nuclear Power Plant.

-Liaising with stakeholder; designers, classification societies, regulators, nuclear technology developers to manage designs against evolving requirements.

Required Skills and Experience:

-High level degree and/or master's in mechanical engineering or equivalent.

-A minimum of 5 years' experience in the nuclear and/or marine industry.

-Good understanding of power conversion cycles and application in the Nuclear and/or marine industry.

-Experienced with writing work specifications, thermodynamic calculations and numerical simulations.

-Proficient in SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD.
