Job Title: Site Supervisor (Mechanical Bias) - Water TreatmentLocation: East LondonThe Role:We are seeking a skilled and experienced Site Supervisor with a strong mechanical bias to join our team and play a vital role in the successful construction and commissioning of a water treatment plant in East London. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of mechanical installation, maintenance, and quality control on this important infrastructure project.Key Responsibilities:

Mechanical Installation:

Oversee the installation and assembly of mechanical systems within the water treatment plant, including pumps, valves, piping, filters, and other related equipment.Ensure all installations are carried out according to project specifications, drawings, and industry standards.Coordinate with other trades and subcontractors involved in the installation process.

Maintenance and Repair:

Supervise the preventive and corrective maintenance of mechanical systems, including troubleshooting issues, repairing damaged parts, and ensuring optimal system performance.Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures.Ensure the availability of spare parts and materials for maintenance activities.

Quality Control:

Enforce quality control standards throughout the installation and maintenance processes.Inspect completed work to ensure it meets project specifications and safety requirements.

Safety and Compliance:

Maintain a high level of safety awareness and adherence to all safety regulations and procedures.Ensure that all work is performed in a safe and compliant manner, complying with relevant industry standards and regulations.Conduct safety briefings and toolbox talks with the team.Implement a strong safety culture on site.

Team Management:

Supervise a team of mechanical fitters and technicians, providing guidance and support.Delegate tasks effectively and ensure the team is properly equipped and trained.Maintain clear communication with the team and project stakeholders.

Documentation:

Maintain accurate records of work performed, including daily logs, inspection reports, and material usage.Prepare progress reports and updates for the project manager.Required Qualifications and Experience:

Essential:

*HNC / HND in Mechanical Engineering or good apprenticeship in pipework and welding along with experience

*SSSTS

*CSCS

*First Aider
