My client is a leading engineering consultancy known for delivering innovative and sustainable solutions in the building services sector. With a team of 40 experienced engineers, they specialize in commercial, residential, and mixed-use projects, consistently pushing the boundaries of design excellence and efficiency.
Role Overview: They are seeking an accomplished Principal/Associate Mechanical Design Engineer to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will bring extensive leadership experience, technical expertise, and a strategic mindset to drive project success and support business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead, manage, and oversee complex mechanical design projects from concept to completion, ensuring alignment with client specifications and industry standards.
* Develop and review detailed mechanical design drawings, specifications, and calculations for commercial, residential, and mixed-use developments.
* Collaborate closely with architects, electrical engineers, and other key stakeholders to deliver integrated and optimized design solutions.
* Act as a key client liaison, building and maintaining strong relationships to support ongoing and future projects.
* Mentor and develop junior and senior engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, learning, and innovation.
* Contribute to business development initiatives, supporting bids, proposals, and presentations to secure new opportunities.
* Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and regulations to maintain and enhance the quality and competitiveness of our services.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
* Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or equivalent certification required.
* Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical design engineering within the building services sector, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
* Proven track record in leading mechanical design projects for commercial, residential, and mixed-use buildings.
* Strong knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and best practices.
* Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
* Proficiency in mechanical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, IES, or similar tools).
