Principal or Associate Mechanical Engineer – West London – Fantastic Benefits – up to £75k

We are currently seeking an ambitious Associate Mechanical Engineer to join a leading global and highly reputable design consultancy, based in West London.

They are a leader in design and engineering with a diverse team who work on some of the most prestigious and innovative projects in the UK and across the world.

As an Associate you will be involved in one of the UK’s most prestigious and iconic projects with a varied workload and the autonomy to work individually but will also assist in planning and managing an appropriate resource to deliver projects. Reporting to the Directors, you will provide support in delivering projects effectively to strict deadlines, whilst maintaining technical performance standards.

Your new role, what's involved?

  • As an Associate Mechanical Engineer you will be taking a leading role in a number of their most prestigious projects.
  • This is a site based role and the team you will be working with are a close group of engineers working together in an effective and cooperative team atmosphere with a flexible hybrid working model to working practices. Their team find this a hugely beneficial feature of managing a healthy work life balance.
  • The team are directly involved in mission critical building and infrastructure projects.
  • The team is supported by their wider Mechanical, Electrical and Public Heath teams in their regional offices.
  • They will be looking to you to not only be a client facing representative, but also to lead an engineering delivery team in providing innovative and sustainable solutions.
  • As part of their wider team, they will be looking to you to incorporate their philosophies of sustainability, net zero carbon, digital design, modern methods of construction and smart systems into your design work.

The Team

  • The team is comprised of 10 engineers and part of a wider group of 35 engineers working across the Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health specialisms in their London and regional offices.
  • Whilst their core team is site based, you have an ability of work from their London and regional offices, or from home, for some of the week. Many of the team choose to alternate the office they work in to suit personal needs.
  • You will have a team of graduate, senior and principal engineers in supporting roles around you, as well as dedicated BIM and Sustainability specialists to contribute to your projects.

What we need from you

  • Have the ability to work as part of a team, but also take a leading role in managing engineers towards the delivery of their key projects.
  • Be able to apply technical judgement and resourcefulness to feasibility studies, concept, scheme and detailed design, as well as construction support phases of projects.
  • Able to represent our client to their clients, whilst also understanding and delivering client needs in engineering solutions.
  • Have good working knowledge of UK mechanical building services design, including relevant standards, codes and regulations.
  • Be able to manage the technical, cost and programme elements of project delivery.
  • Experience of the UK Aviation sector is preferable, but not a requirement.
